July 8 Fifth Posting
Today's class provided me with a great deal of insight into using a model such as TPACK to successfully integrate the use of technology into our curriculum in order to plan lessons that really lie at the heart of learning using effective online tools. I really believe that when we plan lessons that are intentional and use technology effectively, our students excel and are fully engaged in their own learning. In addition, I really appreciated learning and clarifying some of the vocabulary around technology. For example, the functions and the definitions of Web 1.0 or 2.0 and so on were very helpful. I also really enjoyed learning about the "Cool Tools for Schools" website because it is going to be a huge, valuable resource when teachers are thinking about infusing technology into their lessons. I will definitely share this site with educators I work with in my role as a Learning Leader. In addition, "Wall Wisher," "Picnik," "FlipSnack" and "Symbaloo" are all great tools, and I can see the potential of using one or a combination of these tools with students. I completely agree with what you said about not using everything but knowing that it is there is very helpful as well. Thank you! Have a great weekend!
